LA trip

My feet next to the ocean

Jumping!!

The theatre trip to LA was so much fun, at first I thought I was going to be stuck in workshops all day and night but it turns out that we get a lot of free time do whatever it is we want.

On the very first day we went to Santa Monica pier and walked along the beach, then we checked into the Omni hotel which is really really nice. The next day we were not able to go to any workshops because we had to meet the teachers at the time they started. Great planning right? But later that day we did go and see one of the first shows. It was "25th annual puttun county spelling bee", it's a musical based on kids in a spelling bee. (it's way cooler then it sounds.)

Then the next show we saw was a show called "she stoops to conquer" it was a neo classical show (the kind with fancy talk and dresses so big you can't walk through a door way) and in the play they incorperated modern technology. So normal monologues that would typically directed to the audience were projected onto a screen and made to look like the character was writing something on facebook, or should I say "visagebook" It was hilarious!!!! The play itself was so funny and all the characters were just so crazy. Also during the play you recieved text messages from the characters. It was just great.

The next day we went and saw the "cherry orchard" it was so sad. It made me cry at the very end. Also my friend Osiris and I went to get seats early and got to talk with some of the cast! Now that was a ton of fun because I met some of the nicest people. There are two Jeff's inpeticular, I classify them as Little Jeff and Mustashe Jeff. They go to California Lutheran University and it actually looks like a really cool school and I'm thinking about checking it out, they live in Thousand Oaks California so we only got to hang out during that week :/ Maybe I'll get to visit them during the summer? Perhaps. Anything is possible.

The last show we got to see was a show called "stagedoor" it's a show based in the 1920's about a boarding house where aspiring actresses live in New York. The entire play was done in black in white, the furniture the costumes were all either black white or shades of grey. Even the people were black and white, putting on little bits of make up and putting something in their hair to give them the apperance of being in a black and white movie. It was performed by BYU and it was acutally a really good show.

I also went to musical theatre dance workshop where we got to dance around and learn a little routine. Osiris and I had a blast streching together and learning the dance cause we are in dance class together anyway! Not only did we get to walk around downtown LA but we also went shopping too, it was a ton of fun to see the architecture of the big beautiful buildings and all the different people. (however I did have some crazy people yell at me)
